Kathryn worked as a geological engineer before joining KCB in 2011 as Quality Coordinator in our Vancouver office. Her role quickly expanded to include advising on health and safety matters, and in 2019 she established the Nanaimo office to support expansion of the Mining Environmental Group in BC.

Kathryn’s area of specialty is risk management. In addition to managing the growing Nanaimo team, she reviews and negotiates contracts company-wide, develops and delivers global training programs, and is involved in ongoing policy development, such as helping establish KCB’s tailings dam Engineer of Record requirements.

Education

Kathryn has a B.A.Sc. in Geological Engineering from The University of British Columbia and she is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia.

Fun Fact

Thanks to a close relationship with her German grandmother, Kathryn is a huge fan of sauerkraut and will eat it on just about anything.
