Eugene has 23 years of experience in the design, additions, improvements, and replacement of heavy electrical equipment at power generation facilities and substations. He has also designed and commissioned instrumentation and control systems for equipment including exciters, governors, synchronous condensers, and switchgear. Additionally, he has worked on projects in the oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Projects
Most recently, Eugene has been engaged in the upgrade works at various dam and spillway sites throughout British Columbia. He has also worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team with design and review capacities at the Site C, John Hart, Waneta Expansion, and Revelstoke Generating Stations, as well as at various independent power producer plants.
Education
Eugene holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, as well as in the states of Washington, Alaska, and California in the United States and Queensland in Australia.
Fun Fact
Eugene has taken up a recent keen interest to World War II history. He has visited the Arnhem (John Frost) Bridge in the Netherlands and Pearl Harbour in Hawaii. He has also spent countless hours battling online foes in Axis & Allies Online (board game), Hearts of Iron (grand strategy game), and Kards (card deckbuilding game).
