Crooked Lake Water Control Structure Replacement
Saskatchewan, Canada
Project Details
The existing Crooked Lake Water Control Structure is located on the Qu’Appelle River in southern Saskatchewan. The existing stoplog control structure is 80 years old and is in a deteriorated state that affects operability. Water Security Agency (WSA) of Saskatchewan has commissioned KCB to design a replacement structure, to be located adjacent to the existing structure. The new structure will have similar hydraulic capacity but will include improvements such as electric gates and an adjacent pool and riffle fishway. KCB’s scope included options assessment; environmental assessment; geotechnical investigation; and design of the control structure, inlet and outlet channels, fishway, access road, and foundation improvements.
