Klohn Crippen Berger Releases 2016 Sustainability Report

Klohn Crippen Berger is proud to release its 2016 Sustainability Report, where we report on the economic, social and environmental impacts of our business in 2016. This year’s theme is Strengthening Professional Practice. In our fifth report, we highlight how we are helping to improve the standard of care for dam safety and tailings engineering.

With KCB’s help, British Columbia is leading the way by recently revising its Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in B.C., laying out clear regulations for the safe management of tailings dams. Other jurisdictions and professional associations across the world are taking notice and adopting revised codes and guidelines for both mine owners and engineers. We also provided input to guidelines from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) and the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) to improve the state of practice of tailings engineering.
