Klohn Crippen Berger Celebrates Two CEA Awards at 25th Annual Showcase Awards Gala

Consulting Engineers of Alberta (CEA) held their 25th Annual Showcase Awards Gala on April 8, 2022. The evening recognizes excellence in projects completed by the Alberta consulting engineering community. Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) received two Awards of Excellence in the categories of Community Development and Water Resources for the Glenmore Dam Infrastructure Improvement Project.
KCB was retained by The City of Calgary to undertake major rehabilitation of the 90-year-old Glenmore Dam and to replace its bridge deck. Completed in September 2020, the upgraded concrete dam and new bridge deck combine industrial functionality with enhanced recreational amenities while preserving the architectural significance of Calgary’s iconic dam. KCB worked alongside subconsultant, GEC Architecture, and prime contractor, Flatiron Constructors, on the project.
Accepting the awards were members of the project team, from left to right, Peter Roy, Civil Engineer, Steve Dold, Leader – City Project Engineering Glenmore, Bob Stirling – GEC Architect, Associate, Mark Schultes, Civil/Structural Engineer, David Mack, Project Manager, and VP, Alberta; and Michael Grisdale, Civil/Structural Engineer. Project team members not in attendance at the event included Max Roberts, Electrical Engineer, Robert Beaumont, Mechanical Engineer, and Patrick Mackie – City Project Engineering Glenmore.
