Kate Patterson Receives CIM-Bedford Young Mining Leaders Award

Kate Patterson, P.Eng., M.Eng., PE, has won the 2020 CIM-Bedford Young Mining Leaders Award. This award highlights the exceptional achievement and potential of young Canadian mining leaders. Kate is one of KCB’s Associates and a Tailings and Water Resources Engineer based in Vancouver. She manages a team within KCB’s Mining Environment Group and is the project manager of several multi-disciplinary, large-scale tailings facility design projects.
She has been with KCB for 13 years and has worked on mining projects across the globe, including Canada, the United States, Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. From 2015 to 2017, Kate led a state-of-practice study on tailings management sponsored by the Mine Environment Neutral Drainage (MEND) Program and the Mining Association of Canada. She is currently supporting KCB’s expansion into southwestern United States.
