Claire Kent Elected as IAH Queensland President

Claire Kent has been elected the new Queensland President for the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). Claire has been an active member of the IAH for several years, having previously held the position of Executive Secretary for IAH Australia (national branch) from 2019 to 2021, and was part of the organising committee for the IAH Australian Groundwater Conference held in November 2019.
The IAH aims to be a leading international society for the science and practice of hydrogeology and to be a globally recognised information source and facilitator for the transfer of groundwater knowledge.
Based in the Brisbane Office, Claire has over 12 years of experience as a hydrogeologist. After graduating with an MSc in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham in the UK, Claire started her career in the UK working mainly on public water supply projects. Claire joined KCB in 2013 and has worked on a range of hydrogeological projects across the mining, oil and gas and government sectors for many of KCB Australia's key clients. Over the last few years, Claire has been the project manager and lead hydrogeologist for projects with Glencore McArthur River Mine and took up the role as the lead of business development for the Australian BU in 2020.
