Rick has more than 38 years of experience in project management, design, and construction of transportation, marine, and heavy industrial infrastructure throughout Canada. His diverse background includes Design-Build projects; design and rehabilitation of highway bridges; design of natural gas process facilities; and construction supervision and inspections. In addition to his design experience, Rick has been part of Owner’s Representative teams to review technical documents, designs, and contractor’s bids.

Key Projects

Rick’s key projects includes the Highway 407 East Phase 2 Design-Build Project in Oshawa, Ontario; Highway 29 Relocation – Dry Creek Bridge near Hudson’s Hope, BC; the Highway 91 at 72 Avenue Interchange in Delta, BC; and construction engineering for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Signature Span, California.

Education

Rick is a Civil Tech who completed the Industrial Drafting and Design program at Kwantlen Polytechnic, Bridge Inspection and Process Piping Design programs at British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Fundamentals of Professional Practice with the Geoprofessional Business Association.

Fun Fact

Rick worked with Crippen Consultants bridge group from 1990 to 1995. After 10 years with Westcoast Energy designing natural gas infrastructure, he came back to Klohn Crippen Berger’s transportation group. His career has allowed him to visit small towns throughout Canada that he likely would never have visited.
