KCB Continues Legacy with 18 Years as a Best Managed Company

May 14, 2026

KCB is honoured to be recognized as a 2026 Canada's Best Managed Companies Platinum Club designation. Earning this achievement for the 18th consecutive year reflects the strength of our business performance, leadership and sustainable growth, while reaffirming our commitment to excellence in management and financial practices.

“As the engineering consulting industry evolves, shaped by energy transition, climate resilience, and digital advancement we are proud to be recognized once again as a Best Managed Company. This recognition also reflects the passion, integrity and drive for excellence of our people and culture, and the shared commitment across our teams of collaboration and delivering practical solutions to our clients and the communities we serve and operate in,” said Ryan Douglas, KCB President & CEO.

In 2025, KCB completed our three-year strategic cycle. From 2023 to 2025, our strategic focus was on addressing key industry challenges, which contributed to our recognition as a Best Managed Company. These included the following areas:
  • Employer of Choice
  • Digital Transformation
  • Diversification of Services
We recognized that Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) remain a core part of our goal of becoming an employer of choice. This commitment is reflected in our ongoing efforts to attract, retain, and support talented professionals. In 2025, KCB formally launched its EDI roadmap on our internal SharePoint Online. The roadmap was guided by three core pillars:
  • Diverse Talent Pipeline – Expanding opportunity and representation.
  • Equitable People Practices – Supporting employees through fair processes.
  • Intentional Inclusion – Fostering belonging, dialogue, and collaboration.
This framework helps shape future initiatives and strengthen our commitment to developing a positive workplace culture. At the same time, KCB expanded our investment in research and development as the engineering industry increasingly embraced data-driven and digital technologies.
  • In May 2024, we launched an AI survey to better understand how AI could support our work and improve client service.
  • In 2025, we introduced an AI Pilot Program to trial licensed enterprise AI tools and enhance operational efficiency.
  • We also launched a Generative Artificial Intelligence Use Policy to guide responsible and effective AI use.
Our continued growth also reflected our strength as a diversified, multi-disciplinary firm serving key sectors including hydropower, transportation, and mining.
  • In Australia, we continued to expand our regional presence, including a new office in Newcastle to support clients in New South Wales.
  • In Europe, we opened an office in Sweden following our recent expansion into Ireland. In Latin America, continued growth created new opportunities in Chile, Argentina, and Mexico.
As we enter a new cycle of strategic planning, we chart a new path with a Long-Term Ambition of Globally Connected Excellence. This direction is grounded in our core values of Passion, Integrity, and Excellence, as well as our shared purpose of Sustaining the Future. At the heart of this vision is our continued investment in our people, combined with the adoption of innovative technologies that will strengthen how we work and set us up for future success.
